Happy Streets, an initiative of The Times of India organized in association with Ahmedabad City Police and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), that enthralled thousands of citizens every Sunday at CG Road and on May 28 at Adani Shantigram, is taking a break for the season.
Hundreds of revellers had shared their experience online and appreciated the initiative to convert a public place into a vehicle-free zone that can be utilized for activities ranging from exercise to cycling and street performances to music. It also provided a platform to NGOs to spread awareness about causes close to their hearts and attracted youths in a large number to make the initiative a fixture on their Sunday schedule. Happy Streets would be back after monsoons, and thus there would be no activity at any of the previous venues now onwards until further announcement.
