During a recent media interaction, Johar revealed that the project is currently in the advanced stages of pre-production and will premiere on a major global streaming platform soon. The original film, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukerji, Abhishek Bachchan, and Preity Zinta, was highly polarizing upon release for its bold exploration of infidelity and complex modern relationships, but has since achieved absolute cult status.
