Review of G7 Musical Thaltej Music Class Training Institute in Ahmedabad

I like music. I like to listen and now like to play music as well. I knew there is a music class near by a place where i live. I thought, better to go at a place near to my house. I visited G7 Musical at Thaltej, Ahmedabad to inquire for learning musical instrument, electronic keyboard. An owner of the class (not disclosing name here), given all details and said that the fee is Rs 1000 for a month and Rs 3000 for 3 months.

I went there with Rs 1000 to pay fees, i was given a form to write my details and given time for 3 days a week schedule. I started learning but experience wasn’t good at all. When i went for an inquiry, he talked very nicely and politely but as soon as i became his student, he started talking very rudely, and talking just about anything which was completely irrelevant to music. Even if i took (just any) book, he asked that why did i bring such a thin book! I must bring a big book to write! Hello, we are not in school – bring this and bring that. This will not work and that will work! Who the hell are you to decide what sort of book do i need to bring? You are there to teach music and not to see what kind of books we are bringing!

I didnt argue as i didnt want to do it at the 1st day of my joining. I thought, let’s just go with the flow. He would be of this kind of nature, but he was almost like finding a reason to speak irrelevant for just about anything everyday!

He teaches very slow, keeps asking us to keep doing exercise that he has given. Those are very basic ones and we could easily learn it in 2 sessions but he stretches it to almost 4-5 sessions. So that he can stretch our time and we keep paying every month to learn further. In my 2-3 weeks of time, he only taught me 2 page of lessons and that too nothing but playing C D E F G A B C in different ways. That’s all. At other place, where i am currently learning; has taught me almost 2-3 songs in a month of time! You can see the difference now. This guy is greedy. If we have paid for that month, he must teach what he can cover for that month. For the sake of “more practice”, he just stretches our schedule time.

He kept Navratri holidays by saying that he is going to play music/garba in events even though these garba events are organized at night time and not till late evening! In the meantime, my month was about to over and i have stopped going as i found a really good (and i must say), a far better music class at another place. I left after almost 3 weeks, didn’t bother for attending 4th week, and let go off my money i paid for that month.

On the whole, i had VERY bad experience. I would recommend – NOT – to go there ever for any sort of musical training.

Below is a proof of mine that i went there for a month. A receipt (which doesn’t have his company name on it either) that shows i paid Rs 1000 for a month of keyboard training.

Update:
Few weeks later: I also written a small review on JustDial website with 1 star. He called me and almost fought on phone about that and asked why did I write, what have I done etc.. I was firm about what i have written because I know, that i have written the truth and only what I have really experienced. Then after few weeks, JustDial removed my review (as i suspect, this would be their paid customer and must be removed because of that) and I got a call from JustDial asking me that they can make it live, if I can prove it right by talking to this person again by a conference call and I said that I have written what I have experienced. That’s it. I don’t even want to talk to such a person who cannot give respect to students / other person. I just dont want to get into it again (I even didnt go to his class ever again even to ask for anything, even after leaving it by remaining few days of training, not even asking to give my money back as I am not satisfied at all). I just dont want to talk to him, whether you keep my reviews or not. I dont bother at all.

16 Mar 2015, Monday: He visited my home (even without informing me) at around 1:00pm afternoon, i said that i am busy, come in evening if you want to talk and he just kept talking and talking. Did not go. He forcefully talked, then i had to talk too. He said that i came with a single paper to learn (even though i went with a thin note as mentioned above in my review), as a teacher i have rights (i am a Guru, who should be credited more than parents), i want to see my students’ bright future and i can be strict for that etc… (i said, that being strict is different thing and being rude is completely different). He said while leaving that a review you have written, is affecting my business; understand it and do what you can. I said that now you can’t reverse what you have done already in the past. You should have thought of all these after giving admission to your students and not after they leave you for this reason. This happens because of you only, not because of us! (I even didnt come to you ever again with my complaints).
