Reliance Jio to Launch 2000 Digital Express Mini Putlets for 4G LTE Internet Services

Reliance Jio is reportedly planning to open 2,000 Digital Xpress Mini outlets for providing the company’s forthcoming telecom services and devices including smartphones and tablets, and also peripherals from third party vendors. Reliance Jio will launch these outlets in the current fiscal year to sell the company’s telecom services including mobile phone and 4G LTE Internet services through these stores, each of which will be about 250 square feet.

Recently Apple too had been in the news for launching smaller stores even in major places and tier 2 cities in India to push the sales of its mid-range products. Players like Samsung as well as operators like Airtel too have their exclusive stores running in the country. Samsung’s Smartphone Café stores are the company’s exclusive centres that have an experience zone for customers.

Reliance Jio has been working on its 4G LTE network services which are expected to be announced by September this year. The company has unified services license for pan-India operations and has recently also invested in 1,800MHz spectrum across 14 circles by paying about Rs 11,000 crore. It already has pan-India BWA spectrum in the 2,300MHz band, which it acquired for Rs 13,000 crore during the 2010 BWA spectrum auction. The company has been working on launching its voice services as well as data services pan-India and has also been in reports for working on affordable 4G LTE-enabled smartphones, which would come for around as low as Rs 5,000.
