Reliance Jio 4G Launch and Plans Revealed with LYF Mobiles and LYF TV

Reliance Jio 4G launch event happened at Reliance Corporate Park on December 27, 2015 in Mumbai. Actor Shah Rukh Khan, who has also been named the brand ambassador for the Jio brand, hosted the show while musician A R Rahman has performed on his music. The launch also marked founder Dhirubhai Ambani’s birthday on 28 th December. The event was telecasted across 1000 locations for live webcasts.

Reliance Jio announced the launch of the much-anticipated 4G services for its employees. The launch marked the re-entry of Mukesh Ambani in the mobile service business. “On the 83rd birth anniversary of our founder, I wish to offer you Jio services from tomorrow,” said Mukesh Ambani at the event. He further added that this was the first time in the history of corporate India that such an employee-first initiative happened at this scale. The event started with Mukesh’s children Akash Ambani and Isha Ambani anchoring the show to start the event. Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan, who will be the brand ambassador for the Jio’s 4G mobile and broadband services, performed at the function on songs including the hit Gerua song from his latest movie Dilwale. AR Rehman performed the famous Jai Ho and a track from Swadesh. Reliance Jio holds the biggest chunk of liberalised spectrum among telecom operators and that can be used for deploying any technology for mobile services. The company is expected to launch the commercial rollout of its 4G services from March-April 2016.

Reliance Jio has long been gearing up to launch its 4G LTE services in India, and speculations are rife as to when they will be finally rolled out. The latest reports suggest that Jio could be rolling out its 4G services as early as this week, and alleged tariff plans have surfaced online. According to reports, Jio will be offering up to 75GB of data for as low as Rs 200. It is also said to be offering low-cost voice plans for around Rs 35 and family plans priced around Rs 37. Vodafone and Airtel both are offering 4G data at 3G plan rates, though Airtel also has dedicated 4G plans as well. Jio is also expected to offer Mi-Fi devices to users with relatively low cost plans. Reports say that Jio’s 40GB data plans are expected to be priced between Rs 700 and Rs 800 and will be valid for three months. Jio is expected to offer plans for up to 200GB data.
