Narendra Modi Launches e-Nagar Project Making Ahmedabad Wi-Fi City

Today, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi launched the e-Nagar initiative & Mahatma Gandhi Swachchata Mission. Modi also presented Nirmal Gram Puraskar to the winning villages.Modi promotes Nirmal Gujarat, a Clean Gujarat drive in the state. Direct corollary of cleanliness is good health. Together, let us create a Clean India by Gandhi ji’s 150th birth anniversary in 2019. e-Nagar is a step towards higher transparency, greater accountability, 24/7 accessibility & improved efficiency, putting people first!

21st century is going to be linked with digital world. Things are changing fast & our urban infrastructure must keep pace with the changes. Gujarat’s concept of ‘One Day Governance’ shows how technology can bring a positive change in people’s lives.

Claiming that digital India’s new journey has begun from Gujarat, chief minister Narendra Modi made eight localities of Ahmedabad city WiFi enabled under the government’s ‘e-Nagar’ project that is to be gradually extended to 53 towns in Gujarat.

Extending greetings to the people of Ahmedabad to mark the city’s 603rd anniversary, Modi used a Skype message to his assembly constituency of Maninagar to announce various ambitious schemes and projects. Modi also launched a three-month-long intensive cleanliness campaign under Mahatma Gandhi Cleanliness Mission that will culminate on the Mahatma’s 150th birth anniversary in 2019. The agenda of the mission includes providing a toilet to every home and to uphold the dignity of women.
